Dr. Huangfu earned his Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree at Huazhong Agricultural University and Beijing University of Chemical Technology in 2010 and 2014. As a master student, he focused on the testing methodology study about the performance of biomass stoves and laboratory testing on parameters that influence the emission performance which was supported by the United Nations Foundation; he also took part in the field measurements of emission factors in rural areas. In 2018, he received his Ph.D. Degree from Washington State University in the USA focusing on the online measurement of volatile organic compounds and their decay behavior. He finished several research projects supported by the US. EPA and US Department of Transportation, such as the Integrated Measurements and Modeling Using US Smart Homes to Assess Climate Change Impacts on Indoor Air Quality (EPA-G1014-STAR-A1), Lewiston-Clarkston (LC) Valley Formaldehyde Study, and Impact of Cold Climates on Vehicle Emissions: The Cold Start Air Toxics Pulse (CESTiCC Project 101409).
